What’s Causing These Stubborn Pigmentation Marks?

Excess skin pigmentation or hyperpigmentation is usually caused by an overwhelmed melanin-protective system. This leads to excess production and clumping of melanin, and the appearance of brown or darker spots of pigmentation in the skin.

The common mistake that most people make is assuming that pigmentation problems are all the same and can be easily treated with the use of lightening creams or Q-Switched Lasers.

IDS Aesthetics Pigmented Lesion Removal Treatment will treat solar lentigines (sun spots), nevus of Ota and Hori (pigmented ‘birth-marks'), melasma and other pigmented lesions. If you are facing any of these problems, at IDS, your skin will be in good hands.

Don’t Make The Same Mistake. Address Your Problem The Right Way. One Of The Ideal Treatment Method Is Using Pico Laser

WHAT IS PICO LASER?

A non-ablative laser that is mainly used for pigmentation removal, acne scars, skin rejuvenation and brightening, and tattoo removal.

WHAT CAN IT DO?

Works in ultrashort picosecond laser pulses instead of nanosecond pulses in a Q-Switched Laser. This means that the pulse duration (how much time 1 laser shot stays on the skin) of a Pico Laser is 100x shorter than a Q-Switched Laser, and more laser shots can be fired by a Pico Laser in the same amount of time compared to a Q-Switched Laser.

How Is Pico Laser Different From Other Lasers?

The PICO Laser is new in the marketplace for pigmentation and tattoo removal. The thousandth of a second pulsed laser called the long-pulse laser or the Q-switch laser which is pulsed in a millionth of a second. With the PICO Laser, the energy is pulsed in one billionth of a second.

Now This Will Make A Big Difference In Removing The Pigmentation On Your Skin

To Prevent Further Damage, Here's What We Will Do To Get Rid Of Your Blemishes

Depending on the type of lesions you have, numbing cream may be required or requested. However, most of our patients are usually good without the use of numbing cream.

We will then determine the condition of the pigment again before selecting the ideal equipment, wavelength and handpiece for the treatment

We will start by double cleansing your face to remove any sebum buildup.

Two or more wavelengths or handpieces may be used in a session.

The light treatment will selectively target the pigmented lesion, leaving normal surrounding skin unharmed.

Ultimately, while multiple treatments may be required depending on your condition, you will experience a clearer and brighter skin tone.

Beyond Lasers

Other than using medical procedures to address Hyper-pigmentation issues, we also offer a potent proprietary skincare range formulated to deliver maximum efficacy. This includes IDS Fair Complex and IDS Lyco-White that works in synergy with the laser treatment so that patients get to see the results faster.

We also combine the application of BBL or in-clinic whitening peeling mask for more than six hours to help enhance the result.

Common Faqs

1. Is Pico laser for Hyper-pigmentation painful?

Contrary to popular belief, Pico Laser session is, in fact, a very comfortable process. To reduce any sensation, a numbing cream can be applied on the skin prior to the laser session. It feels like a warm and gentle pricking sensation on the skin.

2. Will there by any bleeding or downtime?

For Hyper-pigmentaton, there is mild flushing of the treated area which usually resolves after a few hours. More obvious localized redness lasting a few days may occur with intensive spot treatments for more resistant pigmentation.

3. How many sessions will I need?

5 to 8 sessions may be required depending on the extent of your pigmentation and the treatment level of your sessions. The treatment may be repeated every 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the type, extent and severity of your pigmentation.

4. How much improvement can I see after laser treatment?

Generally, you can expect visible improvements of about 50% - 90%, depending on the type and severity. Having said that, if you have an extremely severe case of pigmentation, you are encouraged to consult and seek advise from your medical aesthetics physician and maintain your expectations and not to expect completely clear, smooth skin after the treatment program. Do talk to your physician in-charge because compliance to their instructions is very crucial to getting the best results.

5. Will your hyper-pigmentation issue come back after treatment?

Hyper-pigmentation aggravated by sun exposure (especially freckles, solar lentigo, melasma) tend to recur if there is insufficient post-treatment maintenance like sun protection or a proper skincare regime.

Dermal Pigmentation problems like Hori’s Naevus do not recur once properly treated. The same goes with Post Inflammatory Hyper-pigmentation.
